Writer's Block: The Right to Privacy

I'm aware that the lack of privacy kind of comes with the job, but there are celebrities who really try to stay away from scandals, and hollywood parties, and we only see them when they're promoting an album or a movie. Those deserve to be left alone, especially when it comes to their family lives. If they try their hardest to keep their spouse or their kids out of the public light, they have every right to be annoyed by the paparazzi when they follow them while they're with their family.
Same happens with the celebrities who refuse to talk about their personal lives. If they've never spoken about it, even when everything is great and they have nothing to hide, then it's very clear that they want to separate their work from their lives and people should respect their decision.
But there are some celebrities who use the media, and even the paparazzi when they want to boost their careers; and then they bitch and moan when they won't leave them alone. Once you open the door, you can't close it. So those celebrities have no one to blame but themselves when they loose completely their privacy.
Others have no problem talking about their personal lives when things are going well, but refuse to do so when they're going through a crisis. Like I said, they can't have their cake and eat it too. If someone has a record of talking about their personal lives, the media won't stop asking just because they decide that they don't want to talk about some particular situation. They may not answer, but that doesn't mean they'll stop being asked.
I think it's very clear when someone wants to be an actor or a musician, and when someone wants to be a celebrity. The former should have some privacy, the latter shouldn't because that's what they wanted in the first place. It was never about the job, it was about being famous, so they should be willing to pay the price.
