As you may know by now, there's a rumor going around about Bob being out of My Chemical Romance because of a fight he had with his band members.
It comes from a completely unreliable source, which offers no kind of proof whatsoever; other than the fact that Bob no longer has a twitter account (but he deleted his account months ago, so that proves nothing).
However, somebody pointed out that Bob's blogs were also deleted from their web page a couple of weeks ago, and then another account was created but that it was empty. On top of that, Brian tweeted this: "Have you gotten your arks built? I hear there's a storm a comin. Heavy rains. Thunder. Lightning. And broken hearts and souls." And then when someone replied about a blizzard or something like that, he was like "this is a different kind of storm".
Granted, I'm probably reading way too much into it, and I'm sure I'm being ridiculous, and I know there's a 99.99% probability that this is just a rumor; but still, the 0.01% of uncertainty has me freaking out since yesterday. I can't help it, I wish the band would fucking kill the rumor already, because I feel like I've been holding my breath since I heard about this, and I really, really need to breath out.
This post is pointless, but I just need to hear from you that this is a rumor and that Bob is still a part of the band. HE HAS TO. PLEASE OH MY GOD.

Date: 2010-02-26 05:16 am (UTC)You know what really really just stabs me in the heart (aside from the obvious fact of WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT BOB), is that I feel like, since the guys first started releasing info about how 'different' the new album will be, they've just been disconnecting themselves from the fans more and more.
Maybe it started before that. Maybe it was when everyone settled down and started families and got new priorities and god, I hate to sound selfish, but I feel like the whole band has just been sending out this vibe for months now of just not caring as much about us as they used to promise they always would.
I mean, they're barely ever on twitter anymore, and they never update the band site, and in all the interviews they've done in the past few months, they've talked about the music, but not about the fans.
And as much as I (thought I) love(d) Gerard, it's him that's disappointing me the most. No Twitter since last September, and when he had issues with his voice, he didnt even address us, Frank did it for him. And then, after years and years of being some kind of fucking messiah, after writing and singing words that pulled me from depression when people I'd known my whole life couldnt help, he starts doing interviews where he says, "The whole 'saving lives' thing got blown way out of proportion. That's not what we set out to do. Blah blah blah HEARTBREAKING BULLSHIT".
And now there's this. And they wont even do us the courtasy of letting us know what the fuck is happening.
I feel sick to my stomach. I think I'm just gonna go cry myself to sleep now.

He didn't break his fingers, he could've written the exact same statement that Frank did, it's what the old Gerard would've done, and I know I may sound delusional but he owes us that much.
Granted, it's not his obligation to keep in contact with his fans, but he always claimed that the fans were as important as the music, and I haven't feel like that's true in a long time.
Bob strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn't take shit from anyone, and judging by the way Gerard has been behaving, I wouldn't doubt that Bob didn't like Gerard's new "concept" of the band and decided to leave.
I really, really hope I'm being overdramatic and that this is nothing but a rumor. I guess only time will tell. Except I don't have that kind of patience.

I get that he's busy with The Umbrella Academy, and with his family and with his life in general, but it would've just taken him a few minutes to do it; it's not like we expected him to apologize personally to each fan that had a ticket to Soundwave.

But I spent the whole set going like "Huh, they sound better live, and I have a great spot, and I like this view, and this is a great venue and the perfect timseslot and... it should have been MCR." The cancellation was so late that "My Chemical Romance" was still on all the promo T-shits and some of the programs. I WILL GET OVER IT when they announce another Australian tour, I'm sure.

And if, if he is leaving the band and I really doubt it, I bet it's because of all the medical problems he's had and not because he doesn't get on with the band members at all and he'd be really torn up about leaving because he loves them all so much.
(Disclaimer: I have never followed MCR news or internet presence at all, I just listen to the music and look at concert photos, but, you know. POSITIVE THINKING.)

Date: 2010-02-26 05:39 am (UTC)The thing is, he did have a lot of problems with his wrists, and maybe he doesn't think he can manage a whole tour and maybe he just doesn't want to hold the band back; but even if that was the case, I seriously doubt that they'd let him quit because of that. I'm sure they'd just hire someone to alternate with him so he doesn't have to play all the shows.
Mainly because if that was the reason, he would've quit before he recorded the album, not after.
But let's hope this is just a rumor, and that the band will find it in their hearts to clarify the rumor just to keep the fans from freaking out like I'm doing right now.

Date: 2010-02-27 07:35 am (UTC)Todos estan casados (menos Bob hasta donde yo se), Gerardo tiene The Umbrella Academy y una hija, no creo que vayan a querer estar tanto tiempo lejos de sus esposas. Lo unico que los salvaria seria que sus canciones fueran lo suficientemente comerciales para pasarlas en el radio. Con TBP estuvieron facil 2 anios seguidos en tour, por eso a las fans no les importaba que no hubiera disco nuevo, porque como quiera los veian, pero si hacen giras cortas no van a sobrevivir, a menos de que sacaran un disco por anio.
Gerardo tiene su proyecto, Francisco tiene a Leathermouth, Raymundo es muy buen guitarrista y facil puede conseguir otra banda. A los que les iria mal es a Miguel y a Roberto, porque Miguel no se distingue por ser un gran bajista, y Roberto tiene las munecas hechas garras, asi que no tan facil conseguirian otra banda. Roberto le sabe al sonido, al igual y puede volver a eso, aparte el si tiene una carrera universitaria, pero Miguel no se que haria con su vida si se acabara MCR.
Ojala no hubieran cancelado Soundwave, porque hubiera sido una excelente forma de saber si Roberto esta o no fuera de la banda. Habra que esperar a que empiece la promocion del disco para saber, pero faltan meses para eso.
