I need your advice!

Okay, so I've been sick a lot in the last 2 or 3 years. I've gone to several doctors, and some of them told me that I was fine, while others diagnosed me but the meds they gave me haven't worked so far (but I'm still taking them).

I don't suffer from any serious disease or anything, but still my mom is very worried about me. She made me an appointment with a "doctor" today, some kind of alternate medicine, and he didn't diagnose me at all but he told me he'll cure me from everything. The thing is, he wants me to stop taking my real meds so I'll know it's his meds what's making me better and not the other ones.

I don't believe in alt. medicine, but my mom begged me to give it a chance. I'm afraid of stop taking my meds because sometimes when you stop taking them before you finish the treatment, you become immune to them. And what if the alternative stuff don't work? Then my real meds won't work either and I'll be royally screwed.

Does any of you have any experience with alt. medicine that you can share with me? Does it work? Should I stop taking my meds and give the ~natural stuff a chance?

I hope you can help me, I really don't know what to do.

I talked to my husband last night, after I wrote the post, and he asked me not to stop taking my meds. That I could take the alt. stuff as well if I wanted to please my mom, but in addition to my meds. After all, if I ended up feeling better, who cares if it was because my meds, the alt stuff or the combination of both? That I didn't owe anything to that ~doctor, and that I shouldn't stop taking my meds just so he can prove that his stuff works.

So I think that's what I'm gonna do. I just want to get better, I'm not that old to be this sick.
